Kira is a poet and visual artist from Memphis, Tennessee. A lifelong love of literature and language fuels Kira’s work as an Associate Agent at The Shipman Agency and Assistant Managing Editor for TriQuarterly. 

Kira also tutors students incarcerated in Illinois detention centers through the Prison Education Program at Northwestern University, where she recently graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English with a focus on environmental literature.

Kira’s latest project is all about dreaming—a poetic investigation spanning the mythos of the American Dream and the landscapes of our collective unconscious.
