Kira is a poet and visual artist from Memphis, Tennessee. A lifelong love of literature and language fuels Kira’s work as an Associate Agent at The Shipman Agency and Assistant Managing Editor for TriQuarterly. 

Kira also tutors students incarcerated in Illinois detention centers through the Prison Education Program at Northwestern University, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English with a focus on environmental literature. A recent finalist for a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship, Kira will serve as the 2024-2025 Artist in Residence in the Northwestern Department of English. 

Kira’s latest project is all about dreaming—a poetic investigation spanning the mythos of the American Dream and the landscapes of our collective unconscious.
